Jo Malone’s Red Roses is one of their all time classic scents. Launched in 1996, it’s a heady blend of seven exquisite roses, with crushed violet leaves and a hint of lemon. It sits at the heart of the brand and reinventing it for the 21st century was always going to be a challenge.
Charlotte Stockdale, the recently appointed Style Editor to the brand has taken 300 bottles of her favorite scent, Red Roses, and each limited edition bottle has been hand painted in neon and also engraved with its number. The stylist cites her love of neon (ignited 15 years ago by a pair of Sergio Rossi stilettos) and her mother’s rose garden as the inspirations behind the design.
£120 Only available in Selfridges London, Selfridges Manchester Exchange and Selfridges online.

The Shu Uemura cleansing beauty oil is one of the most well known and accoladed beauty products one can buy. This has won numerous awards but is very expensive. My sister Roseanna had already bought this and raved about it which convinced me to try it. Instead of buying cleanser, toner, moisturiser and cotton pads, all the aforementioned are in this one fantastic product. Being an oil, there is no dragging on delicate skin and of course you don’t need to keep buying cotton pads. The instructions are to simply massage into skin, add water which turns the oil into a milky solution, then wash off. The make up simply melts off. I can’t even explain how fantastic this product is, I am truly converted and what’s more, this oil isn’t as expensive as it seems as the larger bottle will easily last for eight months. There are six different variations for each skin type, I went for the anti ageing formula! I was also very happy to be given two 50ml bottles of Ultime8 samples to try too.
I also treated myself to the Caramel Sundae eyeshadow palette from the Mac Archie’s Girls new limited edition collection. Usually when Mac do these collections the colours are a little too ‘out there’ for me however this palette has some lovely nudes, golds and brown colours, perfect for blending and in the most lovely packaging.
Do you like the painting behind? I did it myself!
